Access to Help Me Find A Doctor is granted to human visitors and to well-behaved search-engine crawlers that respect our robots.txt and published rate limits. All other automated collection is strictly prohibited.

Expressly Prohibited Activities

• Scraping, crawling, spidering, harvesting, indexing, or bulk-downloading any portion of the site, its data, HTML, JSON APIs, images, or media.
• Using bots, headless browsers, scripts, automated agents, AI crawlers, LLM data-collection tools, or any non-human client to access the site outside of publicly documented endpoints.
• Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with rate limits, session flags, IP blocks, CAPTCHA, robots.txt, X-Robots-Tag, `noindex` directives, or any other technical protection measure.
• Rotating IP addresses, user agents, proxies, VPNs, residential-proxy networks, or session identifiers to evade detection or blocking.
• Republishing, reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing directory data — including doctor names, NPIs, addresses, phone numbers, photos, reviews, or bios — in whole or in part.
• Using site content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark machine-learning or AI models without our prior written permission.
• Aggregating, mirroring, framing, or creating derivative directories from our content.

Enforcement

We actively monitor for automated abuse. Sessions exhibiting scraper patterns — including excessive pageviews, monetization-page sweeps, and burst traffic — are automatically rate-limited or blocked, and offending IP addresses may be permanently banned. We reserve the right to pursue civil and criminal remedies, including under the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), state computer-trespass laws, and applicable contract and copyright law. We may seek injunctive relief, damages, and recovery of attorneys' fees and enforcement costs.

By accessing the site with any automated means, you agree that (a) each unauthorized request constitutes a separate breach of these Terms, (b) actual damages are difficult to calculate and liquidated damages of $0.10 USD per request (minimum $1,000 per incident) are a reasonable estimate, and (c) you consent to personal jurisdiction in the state and federal courts serving our principal place of business.

Authorized Access & Reporting

Researchers, partners, or vendors who need programmatic access must request written permission in advance. To report suspected scraping, request an allow-list exception, or coordinate authorized data access, contact our enforcement team:

Search queries: We log searches to improve our directory relevance. These are not tied to your identity unless you are signed in.

Account data: If you claim a doctor profile or create an account, we collect your email address and any information you voluntarily add to your profile.

Reviews & Q&A: When you submit a review or question, we collect the content and a display name you provide.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate and improve the directory and search experience
• To authenticate doctors claiming their profiles
• To display user-generated content (reviews, Q&A)
• To analyze usage patterns and fix bugs
• To communicate with you about your account or profile

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

• With service providers who help us operate the site (hosting, analytics)
• When required by law or to protect our rights
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Directory data (doctor names, specialties, locations) comes from the public NPI Registry and is already public information.

4. Data Retention

We keep account and profile data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes. Reviews and Q&A content may remain visible even if you delete your account, unless you specifically request removal.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. However, no online service is 100% secure. Please use strong passwords and keep your account credentials safe.
