Questions & Answers: signing up, upgrading, and why it's worth it
The three questions practices ask us most, answered in full — signing up, upgrading, and why claiming is worth five minutes.
- How do I sign up and claim my free doctor profile?
- Go to the Claim page and search your last name or your 10-digit NPI. Your profile already exists — it is built from the public federal NPPES NPI Registry — so signing up means proving the listing is yours rather than creating something new. Confirm the listing, verify the NPI against your NPPES record, and confirm your work email. Your profile goes live immediately, and you can then edit the photo, bio, services, procedures, hours, and contact details from your dashboard. It takes about five minutes per clinician, it costs nothing, and a practice manager can claim several providers under one authorized account. If any detail on the unclaimed page is wrong, claiming is also how you correct it — or you can email info@helpmefindadoctor.com and we will fix or remove it.
- How do I upgrade, what does each level cost, and can I cancel?
- Upgrade from your dashboard or the Plans & Pricing page. Spotlight is $10.99/mo and turns on your public phone, website link, practice logo, verified badge, and elevated ranking. Connect is $12.99/mo and adds email lead capture with a tracked inbox and downloadable reports. Engage is $15.99/mo and adds click-to-call tracking. Amplify is $17.99/mo and adds social channel integration plus top placement. Benefits stack — each level keeps everything below it. Checkout is Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover); we never store card details. Paid plans carry a 90-day minimum because that is the realistic window for search engines to re-crawl and re-rank a strengthened profile, and we resubmit your pages for indexing at the 90-day mark and at every renewal. After the minimum you can downgrade or cancel any time; paid features stay live to the end of the term you already paid for, then the listing reverts to the free profile. Expanded radius add-ons up to 150 miles can be added to any paid level.
- Why should a doctor sign up at all if the profile is already there?
- Because the unclaimed page is already indexed and already being shown to patients searching your name, your specialty, and your city — but nobody is controlling it. Claiming lets you decide what that page says: your photo, your bio, the services you actually want patients to book, and the correct phone number and address. It also links the page to your specialty, city, and state landing pages, which is what makes it rank for long-tail searches like "cardiologist in Scottsdale AZ". For a new clinician with no reviews and no website, it is the fastest way to have a real, search-indexed presence. For an established practice, it consolidates your profile, website, and Google Business listing around one authoritative page and turns that traffic into measurable leads — and you keep 100% of them, because we never charge per-lead fees. Claiming is free, so the only cost of not claiming is that the page keeps working for search engines instead of for you.
